It's October, so it's time for Unleash in Paris
Assessing the state of European HR tech.
So, next week, I’m in Paris. Attending Unleash. This year I’m not speaking or on any panels, I’m just going along to catch up with the HR tech community, meet up with other VCs and our portfolio companies, and hopefully learn some new things. Marc Coleman and his team will produce an excellent event. I’ve have been going to the event since it started, and it has tracked the zeitgeist of the European HR tech scene remarkably well for many years now.
Last year was dominated by a lot of AI talk (and the rugby world cup) My review of last year’s event is here.
This year, I’m looking out for a few things.
Genuine deployment of significant AI functionality in production.
Vendor responses to the EU AI Act, and other regulations.
Evidence of enterprise market disruption
Signs of new category creation
Something that surprises me
We have several portfolio companies in attendance so it will be great to see them in action.
On Wednesday evening (16th) , we, Acadian Ventures are sponsoring an event together with Rubio Impact Ventures, Educapital, Mediahaus, Endeit & Kombo. We have a boat, on the Seine. The boat is going to be docked. The evening will include a cocktail dinner with entertainment, drinks, guest speakers from prominent ‘Future of Work’ scale-ups/unicorns, and a sound atmosphere that promises a memorable experience.
